We’re Having a Heat Wave, Not a Tropical Heat Wave
Temperatures all over the southwest are hitting early highs this week. Nothing we can’t handle, though if you’re hoping your air conditioners will tough it out after any extra runtime last summer and any other times during 2020 and into 2021, get that checked out! Nobody wants to hope a repair appointment is possible when it’s 115F or higher outside!
Nevada (specifically the Las Vegas area) is also going to be hot, though Bulllhead City and Loughlin usually get up higher than either Vegas or Phoenix:

Las Vegas | Bullhead City/Laughlin | Phoenix
If you don’t feel like clicking on those, Bullhead/Laughlin are going go be a smidge hotter, no surprise there.
Stay cool!

Border Crossings
There are various pieces of news to check out on the topic of border “encounters” and whatnot, here’s one:
Distant migrants now targeting U.S.-Mexico border (May 27, 2021, Axios.com)
FAIR's Understanding Immigration: Extra-continental Illegal Immigration (June 4, 2021, podcast+transcript at transistor.fm)
It’s important to get reliable data, and to be sure that the data clearly indicates actual entry (legal or otherwise) versus apprehensions and expulsions. Specific handling of asylum claims and where people end up staying in the interim are all news items that can slip between the hands waving…
Customer Service
Are you enjoying your encounters with technical or customer support when you’re trying to use a product or service and not finding success?
This seems like a ripe topic for “you know what happened to me?” from far and wide. Seems like a strong contender for an open segment for you to chime in on the mic or typing it in for publication here. Well, in the corresponding newsletter, or even better to our website. Speaking of customer service…
Imagine telling your favorite story about your least favorite customer service engagement and share!
CasaNunzia Project Update
As you may have heard in previous episodes, the CasaNunzia project is aiming to bring people who need and use assitive technologies and services into co-creation interactions in product and service design process, to involve these actual users early in the process to improve the outcomes and improve lives. Better products and services for people who need them, ultimately makes better products and services for people who want them, too!
We’re getting closer to kicking off the nonprofit formation phase, then we can get on with forming the CasaNunzia Foundation (that name is not final, but it has a ring to it).
